The Myth of Perfect Posture

Do You Think 'Perfect' Posture Solves Everything? Think Again.

Ever heard that your back pain is all down to your posture?

"Stay upright, don’t lean too forward!"

Let's set the record straight: posture isn’t the singular cause of back pain.

Posture is one of the most over-simplified reasons given for back discomfort.

Citing posture as the main culprit for back pain is like blaming your bad mood on the weather. It may be a factor but it doesn’t cover the whole story.

Furthermore, the equation of "posture equals pain" can be misleading and counterproductive.

Here's the genuine insight: no posture is intrinsically 'wrong' or 'right'.

It's not solely about how you sit or stand, but how long you remain static in that position.

Think of it like fresh snow in the winter. Beautiful until day 2-3 when it becomes muddy slush underfoot!

Even what's deemed a "perfect" posture can become problematic if it's sustained for extended periods.

The primary issue? Staying static for too long.

So, instead of fixating on the "ideal" posture, emphasise regular movement.

Shift, stretch, walk around - the key is not to stay stagnant.

Incorporate movement, and your back will benefit.
